Web Developer Demand in 2023
In this article, we will see what is the web developer demand going to be in 2023 given that you are hearing about a recession coming from all these tech companies like Meta, Google, Twitter, etc. Laying off people is there going to be a drop in demand for competent web developers in 2023. My experience going back to 1994 as a professional developer will inform us of what is going probably going to happen in 2023.
To get to the point, I don’t think it is going to have much of an impact in terms of demand. If you set yourself properly as a developer and especially if you have just a little bit of experience you should be fine. Some people will get laid off but they will be able to find jobs pretty quickly. It will be like a reshuffling of the developer deck, so don’t worry about it if you have skills. I am pretty confident of this prediction again because I have been doing this stuff since 1998 and I have seen this boom and bust cycle in the development game. If you have any decent level of skills that both technical skills, coding skills, or interpersonal skills, you should be fine.
For example Twitter, you hear about all these huge numbers of layoffs the vast majority as far I understand we’re not developers able to hallway monitor middle management and that kind of stuff. This is typical by the way in any recession it’s the middle management that gets thrown out the deadwood.
